In terms of technology and quality, ILDEX Vietnam 2010 ended in success! Visitors were satisfied with the technology level at the show, while exhibitors were pleased both with quality of visitors and the advancement of Vietnam’s livestock, dairy, meat-processing, and aquaculture industries.

Promises delivered at ILDEX Vietnam 2010
N.C.C. Exhibition Organizer Co., Ltd., (NEO) has most definitely delivered what the company promised since it launched its first show in 2006. In other words, NEO brought international expertise to satisfy local needs. ILDEX Vietnam 2010, which took place from March 25 to 27 at the new Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City, did just that. It accomplished this by successfully featuring advanced technology and innovative solutions from international suppliers for Vietnam’s livestock, dairy, meat-processing, and aquaculture industries. And now, because of demand, ILDEX has promised to give another successful edition in the future.

The major International Event for Vietnam
At ILDEX Vietnam 2010, there were 220 exhibiting companies from 26 nations that showcased their technological solutions for Vietnam’s livestock, dairy, meat-processing, and aquaculture industries. In addition, a total of 15,278 trade visitors came to the show. The top three visitor groups were from animal husbandry (18%), feed industry (14%), and pig/poultry farmers (12%). Visitors from animal health was ranked 4th at 10% while aqua farmers and dairy farmers were 6 and 5 percent respectively.

A New Record
Out of 15,278 visitors, 10% were international trade visitors. They came from 23 countries: Australia, Bangladesh, India, Cambodia, China, Demark, England, France, Italy, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, the Philippines, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, and the USA. As for local numbers, they were from 47 provinces in Vietnam and 34 group delegations were recorded. Such statistics signify the growing importance of ILDEX Vietnam as both an international and local event for Vietnamese market.

Significant Aquaculture Participation
It should also be noted that visitors from the aquaculture industry comprised a significant portion (16%) of total visitors. This means aquaculture professionals have recognized ILDEX Vietnam as crucial platform for discovering new business opportunities and technology. And it has to be said that the impressive number of aquaculture visitors comes as a result of NEO’s endeavor in developing a dedicated section for an aquaculture pavilion, aquaculture seminars, and also ILDEX Vietnam Aquaculture Conference 2010. By the way, this conference which discussed new dimensions for Vietnam’s aquaculture industry, attracted nearly 200 attendees.

Technology & Business
For most visitors, the purpose of their attendance was purely business. Indeed, more than 52% attended ILDEX Vietnam 2010 for three simple purposes: 1) to buy products and services 2) to build business relationships, and 3) to update technology. A remarkable number (23%) aimed to educate themselves via seminars and the conference. They realized that new technology and innovation are keys for success in the future. ILDEX Vietnam certainly delivered the seminar contents and technology needed for such success.

We are coming back!
“ILDEX Vietnam 2010 was an excellent international show for Vietnam”, declared Mr. Keichiro Yoshimoto, Marketing Department, Animal Nutrition Division, Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd. He also said that ILDEX Vietnam proved to be a superb way to penetrate the Indochinese market. “I was highly satisfied with the show and will definitely come back in the next edition”, he promised.

Visitor Quality
Dr. Kim Jin Dong, Team Leader, Animal Nutrition & Health Unit, CJ Cheil Jedang Corporation, remarked on how ILDEX’s growing size and prominence are not only beneficial for Vietnam, but also a good sign that the country is moving in the right direction. “Visitor quality was impressive, too!”, he commented.

Investment Value
Ms. Geraldine Aupee, Consoler Export Agrotech, Ubifrance, who organized a group of French companies to attend ILDEX Vietnam 2010, said that ILDEX Vietnam 2010 offered good value for investment in an “interesting market”. Ms. Geraldine did add, however, that the ILDEX show has some rooms for improvement in terms of more international participations.
